Summer Grand Prix

There is just one event left in the summer grand prix this year – the Hinckley town centre run on 22nd September. If you have completed three events this is your last chance to qualify for the grand prix awards.

The younger groups threw the vortex and the older robins threw the javelin

The first three in each age group were as follows (these are actual results – to get points for the grand prix don’t forget you have to wear Robin’s kit)

Dates for your diaries:

19th September National Forest 10k and family fun run in Conkers. This race has been organised partly by Ivanhoe runners and NWL District Council and they would like to see plenty of robins there on the day. The fun run is only up to age 14. You need to enter by 10th September.

22nd September – Hinckley town centre run 6.30pm. Final summer grand prix event

Presentations for the summer grand prix and the athletics trophies for the year– this will be between the two sessions on a Saturday morning, provisional date 16th October. The younger group need to stay 10 minutes later than usual, the older ones need to come 10 minutes early. All parents welcome.

A fixture list will soon be on the notice board for the cross country races this coming season. Please have a look and see which ones are appropriate to you and in which you would be interested in taking part.

Congratulations to Gemma, Hannah and Nathan who have qualified for the athletics inter county team to represent Leicestershire on Saturday 11th September.
